Saturday, August 1, 2009 – School Tour – 11am
We were joined by the Class of 1984 for a tour of the school. There are new floors and and new passageways that weren’t there when we went to school there. More construction was underway, most notably… all the lockers were gone as new ones will be installed this summer. New athletic field is awesome… though I do feel sorry for the kids nowadays who won’t experience the “joys” of football in the mud and cinders in the knees when they fall on the track…

School Tour
This is the hall to the right of the main entrance – where the guidance offices are.

School Tour
New Lockers are on the way!

School Tour
Railings are new.  Tile on walls is new.  But look at those stairs – still the same ones we climbed!  (What ARE they made of that they never show wear?)

School Tour
There’s a whole new Art Wing.

School Tour
Music Wing – the MIDI lab…

School Tour
Bridge to (from?) the Middle School

School Tour
View out the windows of that passageway that goes from the History wing to where the home ec classes used to be (are?)…  New athletic complex plus the Elementary School.

School Tour
Library… the little glass study rooms are gone… so are the study carels.

School Tour
Patty Nobbs Frey with Neil Hedin and his daughters.  (Do you suppose the girls know that their grandma used to work in this room?)

School Tour
No more encyclopedias or magazines… Just computers with internet access.

School Tour
The stairway at the end of the math wing – the wing that had no second floor when we went to school there!

School Tour
Sign at end of Math Wing.

School Tour
We took math in this classroom…  No more chalk boards!  (Brian Ceci looks out the window.)

School Tour
The gym seems smaller now.

School Tour
And there’s a climbing wall!

School Tour
Let’s all sing together… Ready?

School Tour

School Tour
Don Rendall, Dick Reynolds.

School Tour

Quiz Time
The field was named in honor of the family who donated the land… (Remember Lawson’s Furniture Barn?)

WOW, so many folks I haven’t seen in years. I wish I could have been there to reconnect. I’m sure after 35 years apart there were some wonderful stories. Hopefully next time ’round I won’t have such unavoidable conflicts. Good to see you all (even if it was only in photos).
